I don’t know about you, but March is a hard month for me. We are just sooo ready for spring and sunshine and generally just not being in winter. This March, especially, has been a hard one. It has been frigid, with lots of wind and drastically different weather day to day. Luckily, with Saint Patrick’s Day just around the corner, I though what better time to try out a warm and cozy recipe like bread budding?
March also happens to be my birthday month! Which is exciting, not hard. 🙂 I just keep looking at my weather app, praying that it doesn’t snow on my birthday this year…because it should not snow on the first day of spring.
Anyway, back to today’s recipe! Whiskey & Cream Bread Pudding. One way I combat the cabin fever we’re all feeling this time of year is by perusing bbcgoodfood.com. The recipes make no sense since all the measurements are different and they have about 20 different types of sugar that they use in the United Kingdom, but the dishes always sound AMAZING! This recipe is a take on a Marmalade Whiskey Bread and Butter Bread Pudding that I really want to give a try now that I have officially made a bread pudding. 🙂 Anyone want me to send them a slice?
I think what’s really great about this recipe is that it can be made as kid-friendly or adult-friendly as you want. Yes, there is whiskey added to the custard mix before baking, but the alcohol is baked out. Still a family-friendly treat. However, if your audience happens to be of the over 21 set, why not add a nice sprinkling of whiskey over the bread pudding just before serving? 🙂 Your guests are sure not to mind!
