Waaayyyy back in January(what kind of feels like forever ago, am I right?) our little family took a quick jaunt down to Nashville, Tennessee. You may know Nashville as the home of country music, and of course it is, but you may not know that Nashville is a fantastic family destination!
Not only is Nashville so easy to travel to with several major interstates leading there and an international airport, it is extremely easy to travel within the city. I would definitely give Music City a 10/10 when it comes to driveability. I get very anxious when it comes to traveling on freeways within large cities, but even when we hit rush hour in the dark when we arrived, I still felt totally at ease with navigating the freeways. Even driving the streets of downtown Nashville felt extremely easy and we honestly did not have an issue finding parking which is always something I worry about when out and about in a new city.
Nashville is probably best known for its music scene which is all pretty much geared to the adult crowd. When traveling with kids, however, we need a bit more family friendly ideas for fun. Some spots we checked out and would highly recommend are:
- The Parthenon
- Opry Mills
- The Aquarium Restaurant
- The Science Discovery Center
- Five Daughters Bakery
- The Nashville Murals
When planning our trip to Nashville, I knew I didn’t want to stay at just any ole hotel chain. So when I came across FieldHouse Jones Nashville in East Nashville I booked it almost immediately. Fieldhouse Jones is such a fun and upbeat hotel! Normally, we try to avoid staying in the hotel too much because there is just too much to see and do, but we were quite content to just play and explore here for quite some time! But, I have to say(and Camdynn and Rhys would 100% agree) that it was our room that really made us fall in love with Fieldhouse Jones. I mean, how many times do you have the chance to sleep in an ultra comfy bunk bed?
Anyway, Nashville we love you and will without a doubt be back as soon as we can!
