Happy Fall! We are officially in my favorite season of all time and while it has been autumn since the end of September, now is the time that it actually starts to look and feel like fall. Our family has been enjoying the very best of fall fun like pumpkin patches, camp fires, picking apples, and enjoying hot apple cider.
This year we are making the switch as a family to choose more sustainable, ethical or locally made products in our home and life and here are some of things we are loving right now:
I really am a t-shirt and jeans kind of gal, so when I stumbled upon Polished Prints on Instagram, I instantly fell in love. Every one of their shirts sports inspiring words and come in the prettiest color palettes. They even have matching kid size shirts, so our whole family got to enjoy a t-shirt upgrade!

As you may or may not know, I have a borderline addiction for all things baked goods. Hopscotch Bakery in Champaign, IL is just the cutest little bakery I found while trying to locate a local spot to buy Polished Prints shirts. Little did I know that I would feel like a totally cool Instagram millennial(which I am not) the moment I stepped through the doors. Besides for having a bakery case filled to the brim with delicious pastries, the atmosphere of Hopscotch Bakery is sublime. The kind of place you would imagine finding in the hip neighborhood of the big city, not little ole Central Illinois.
Universal Thread Fair Trade Jeans
Not only is it the time of year when the leaves start to fall, Autumn also means it’s time to update the wardrobe and start making the transition into colder weather wear. One of my favorite additions to my closet this season has been my new pair of Fair Trade Jeans from Universal Thread at Target. Personally, I have been really impressed with the steps Target has been taking to not only be more ethical and sustainable, but that they are also stocking far more fair trade and eco-friendly and ethical products than most other big box stores in our area and I think that is fantastic!
On that same note, most of the other wardrobe additions I have made have come from Poshmark. Poshmark is an app that you can buy and sell used clothing, shoes, and accessories. I have had really good luck with finding gently worn Madewell, Everlane, Boden, and more at amazing prices!
